Each campus has its own rules about visitors, hours and whether a notary needs to be announced. Give us the building and the unit and we will confirm before we drive.

After hours is the norm, not the exception

Hospital deadlines rarely fall between nine and five. A surgery scheduled for the morning, a discharge moving faster than expected, a family member flying in for a single day.

Evenings and weekends here are routine rather than a favour. If there is a fixed point in your day, lead with it when you call.

Attorneys and case managers

More of our downtown bedside work is arranged by somebody other than the family - an estate attorney whose client was admitted, a hospital case manager, a hospice social worker working a discharge.

If you are coordinating on someone else behalf, send the document ahead and tell us who will actually be in the room. We will tell you before we drive whether the signing can be completed as arranged, which is more useful than discovering it at the bedside.
